Requirements
Understanding of Anatomy and physiology would be beneficial any previous qualifications in Body Therapy or Massage would offset the anatomy and physiology as recognised prior learning. Body exfoliating kit to include a range of products with different effects, exfoliating mitts, body brushes. Body wraps to include sea algae, mud, thermal masks and contour masks, foil wraps, and thermal wraps.  All other materials , all documents , notes, towels etc  and sundries provided by the college

Course Overview:

• This is a comprehensive training course for Spa therapists who are inclined and interested in working in a Spa Environment. The course covers both national and international spa therapies available in the spa environment.

• Physiological changes during water immersion
• Thallassotherapy

• Effects of Hydro massage
• Therapies in Spa
• Treatments and procedures for the use of

  – Affusion/Vichy Shower
  – Experience Showers
  – Seaweed Baths
  – Hydro Pools
  – Floatation
  – Hydrotherapy Baths
• Provide Body Exfoliaitng treatments
• Provide body wrap and enevelopment services
• Provide body massage treatments
• Provide Indian head massage
• Provide hot stone massage
• Provide aromatherapy massage with pre blended oils
• Provide facial skincare and facial massage
• Client consultation and communication
• Client spa journey
• Retail and service sales skills
• Personal development and CV Preparation
• Meet with spa managers
• 10 days work experience.

• Understand and carry out safely all thermal and wet treatments in a spa environment .
• Prepare treatment plan for clients to achieve best results following consultation , be able to map the journey for the client for a complete spa experience.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Project work,exam
  • 2500 word project on water borne diseases and safety in a spa
  • Case study of 4 clients x 4 treatments to include a full body exfoliating, body wrap, body massage and a spa thermal or wet treatment.
  • Understanding of Eastern therapies
  • MCQ of 100 questions
  • Practical examination : 2 hour examination session in a spa treating clients in the thermal and wet areas. Seaweed baths, experience showers, hydrotherapy, sauna and steam.
  • 2 hour examination session in college of Body exfoliating , Body wrap , body massage and an eastern therapy . Hot stone or Indian Head massage .

  External examiner for final examination.

• CIDESCO Spa Therapy Diploma
