Programme Overview

This course is ideal for anyone who is responsible for a business but doesn’t know where to start with GDPR and data protection compliance.

Over a series of five short training sessions, this course aims to provide you with a basic understanding of data protection and help you implement those requirements in your business with a step-by-step guide and template documentation. At the end of the series, we will be hosting a live Q&A session with Léon Atkins of Impact Privacy to answer your questions and provide further support and advice. When the training has been completed, you should be able to meet the most fundamental requirements of the GDPR and have documentation to support compliance.

• Part I – What is data protection, data protection principles, and why getting it right is important;
• Part II – Identifying personal data use and starting the process of documenting the data processing activities of your business;
• Part IIII – When personal data use is lawful, minimising personal data use, ensuring personal data is accurate and completing a record of personal data processing;
• Part IV – Deciding how to long to keep personal data, and how to keep it safe; and
• Part V – Telling people how you use their personal data.
