Entry Requirements
No prior PMU experience is required. A beauty background is beneficial but not essential, making this course suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to transition into PMU.

A model is required for the final day of in-person training.

Course Overview

This beginner-friendly training is designed for those starting out in permanent makeup, as well as beauty professionals looking to expand their skillset.

The course focuses on building strong foundations in machine shading techniques to create soft, natural, and defined brows. Students will learn multiple brow styles and gain the confidence to begin offering Powder and Combo Brow treatments professionally.

A structured combination of theory, hands-on practice, and guided support ensures students develop both technical ability and real confidence in their work.

  • Powder Brow techniques (soft to defined styles)
  • Introduction to Combo Brows
  • Brow mapping and symmetry
  • Colour theory and pigment selection
  • Machine handling, pressure and depth control
  • Client consultation and suitability assessment
  • Health, safety and hygiene practices
  • How to build and present your work professionally

What’s Included:

This training includes 4 days of in-person practical learning, supported by 24 weeks of guided online training and mentorship. Students will gain hands-on experience working on live models and receive a certificate of attendance upon completing the in-person training, followed by a certificate of completion once case studies are successfully submitted. You’ll also benefit from lifetime access to a student support community, along with guidance on marketing and photography to help build and present your work professionally.

Certification:

Students will receive:

  • Certificate of Attendance (after in-person training)
  • Certificate of Completion (once case studies are submitted and passed)

Most students complete certification within 24 weeks.

About the Trainer

Janet Gilbert is an internationally recognised PMU artist, educator, judge and speaker with over a decade of experience.
She is the creator of the Hair STRØQ™ technique, known for ultra-natural, realistic hairstroke brows.
Janet delivers training in Ireland and internationally, supporting both new and experienced artists to build confidence and consistency.
Her approach focuses on strong technical foundations, real understanding, and long-term support.
