September 4th, 11th, 18th, 19th & 25th
October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th
November 6th, 13th, 20th, 21st & 27th
Plus 5 days work experience in December

We require a refundable deposit of €300. This is on the basis that you meet the eligibility criteria. (All learners must fully commit and engage with the programme). This deposit is a standard procedure and serves as a commitment from your side to participate in the course. Rest assured that the deposit will be fully refunded upon completion of the course. Course Overview
The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Colouring Hair is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop practical skills in how to provide an effective consultation service for clients, and the creative art of colouring and lightening hair. Underpinning this qualification, learners will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety whilst working in the hairdressing industry. The purpose of this qualification is to develop learners’ practical skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable them to perform their own salon services.

Learners will also need to complete 5 days’ work experience in a salon as part of the course.

• Consultations
• Understanding the hair / scalp types, and how to know what products to use for each client
• Shampooing and conditioning the hair & scalp
• Blow drying
• Tints
• All over colours
• Tints and highlights
• T-bar / half head highlights
• Full head highlights
• Balayage
• Creative colour
• Basic cutting
• Re-cap of all techniques
• Exam

The work experience will include shampooing clients, doing tints, starting blow dries, and doing everyday salon jobs while keeping health and safety a priority.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to perform client consultations and carry out colouring and lightening on the hair, as well as cutting and styling.
Each learner will be confident in delivering these skills in the workplace and know the in-depth health and safety procedures in the hairdressing industry.
