Who Should Enquire For This Course?
This course is aimed at juniors/trainees who have been out of work due to the pandemic and have missed out on their education because of this. The course is designed to motivate the students and help them get back into the workplace when salons re-open again.
Applicants do not need any qualifications to apply for this course. Salon experience is beneficially, but not mandatory. Candidates may be short listed for interview in advance of places being awarded.

Materials Required
You will need your own hairdressing kit which includes;

  • A Hairdryer
  • Full Brush Set
  • Heated Rollers or Velcro
  • Straightening Irons and Curling Tongs
  • Tint Bowl and Brush
  • A Selection Colour, (conditioner can be used also as colour)
  • Gloves and an Apron

You will also need access to a computer and broadband in order to complete the course.

Course Overview
The main focus of this course is to motivate, inspire and teach trainees who have been out of work due to the pandemic. On the course they will learn a range of different techniques and theory subjects to equip them when they return back to the salon floor.

Course Content
Students will be supplied with a mannequin head and stand, step-by-step videos, and a copy of the Elements Education book. In the Education Book, you can monitor your progression, get access to all the theory, and read through the step-by-step processes.
Each Zoom class will focus on a detailed breakdown of every technique. An agenda will be sent out ahead of each class. This will help the student prepare for the day’s content.

Day 3: Week 1 – History of Hair / Square Layering Technique
Day 4: Week 2 – Half Head Highlighting & Pre-lightener
Day 5: Week 2 – Consultations / Pin Ups
Day 6: Week 2 – Colouring Theory / Balayage & Tip Outs
Day 7: Week 3 – Round and Vertical Layers Techniques
Day 8: Week 3 – Reverse Horseshoe
Day 9: Week 3 – Bobs and Graduated Bobs
Day 10: Week 4 – Dimensional Colour and Colour Correcting
Day 11: Week 4 – Guest Speaker
Day 12: Week 4 – Hair Structure / Men’s Cutting
Day 13: Week 5 – Guest Speaker
Day 14: Week 5 – Baby Lighting / Tip Outs / Bespoke Colouring
Day 15: Week 5 – Presenting Cutting Class Graduation / Course Review / Q&A

Home tasks to complete every week.
No final examination.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will have covered a great deal of training which will have been missed during the pandemic. They will have covered multiple practical techniques and theory subjects which will have the stylist motivated to go back into the salon environment.
