Requirements 
This is an Advanced Aesthetics Course.

To take part, you must provide your certificate and student ID number from one of the following recognised bodies:

  • ITEC / VTCT
  • CIBTAC
  • CIDESCO

You must have:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Skincare, and
  • A Level 3 qualification in either Facial Electrical or Anatomy & Physiology

Please note:
CPD or 1-day courses are not accepted

If you book without these qualifications, you will not be able to attend and your payment will be refunded.

Assignments are required as well as 3 paper exams. This course and all associated exams are delivered in English, so a good command of the language is essential. All classroom discussions will also be conducted in English, as the exam materials are provided in English only. Candidates may use a dictionary during the theory exam and may be granted extra time if needed.

On the first day of the course, learners will be asked to acknowledge and sign an agreement confirming their understanding that this is a blended learning programme. This means that home study, attendance at Zoom sessions, completion of case studies, ongoing review of provided materials, and full use of all resources on our Moodle learning platform are mandatory components of the course. Learners must meet a minimum attendance requirement of 80%. Failure to do so may result in being deferred from exams.

Course Content
This course is the bridge between beauty/nursing and Advanced Clinical Aesthetic treatments. It will combine Moodle theory, home research and study, case study work, assignments and practical and theory exams. The practical elements will all be conducted in the Bronwyn Conroy Schools. Extra Theory classes take place on Zoom if required. (times will be arranged with each group). Students will gain practical experience working on paying clients in a professional salon environment from early in the course.

The syllabus will include;

Core of Knowledge for Advanced Aesthetics (Optional – Although is no longer a compulsory required assignment, we will supply you guidelines to study these modules in your own time to gain extra knowledge)

  • Unit 1: Principles & practices of non-medical aesthetic treatments
  • Unit2: Advanced consultation for non-medical aesthetic therapists
  • Unit 3: Advanced skincare for non-medical aesthetic therapists

Skin Needling

  • LO1 Know safety considerations when providing cosmetic skin needling treatments
  • LO2 Understand how to provide cosmetic skin needling treatments
  • LO3 Know the relevant anatomy, physiology, and pathologies for cosmetic skin needling treatments
  • LO4 Be able to consult, plan, and prepare for cosmetic skin needling treatments
  • LO5 Be able to provide cosmetic skin needling treatments

Skin Peeling

  • LO1 Know safety considerations when providing skin peeling
  • LO2 Understand how to provide skin peel treatments
  • LO3 Know the relevant anatomy, physiology and pathologies for skin peeling
  • LO4 Be able to consult, plan and prepare for treatment
  • LO5 Be able to provide skin peel treatments

Radio Frequency

  • LO1 Know safety considerations when providing radio frequency treatments
  • LO2 Understand how to provide radio frequency treatments
  • LO3 Know the relevant anatomy, physiology and pathologies for radio frequency treatments
  • LO4 Be able to consult, plan and prepare for treatment
  • LO5 Be able to provide radio frequency treatments

Delivery Method

  • Combination of online learning, Zoom sessions and face-to-face instruction. 8–10 hours of self-directed study per week is compulsory.
  • All Practical elements are taught in the class, if you are a post graduate qualified therapist working in a Salon or Clinic, you can complete the micro needling case studies yourself but you must be insured to do so.
  • All models will pay a small fee to cover the College Costs of Products and needles

Qualifications Granted:

  • Level 4 Certificate in Skin Needling
  • Level 4 Certificate in Skin Peels
  • Level 4 Certificate in Radio Frequency
  • Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology – This can be included if required

Enrollment is not fully confirmed until the ESF form is completed. The ESF form will be sent from the Image Skillnet office during office hours.
