The course is aimed at students that have the practical skills of makeup application, and some experience in the industry, but want to gain an ITEC Certified Qualification. Students will be expected to have their own makeup kit and brush set to work towards their examinations.
Access to a computer and broadband is required to complete the course.
This course covers all of the skills, techniques and theoretical knowledge necessary to enable you to gain a qualification in Makeup Artistry.
The course curriculum includes detailed study of;
- consultation techniques
- skin analysis
- skin types
- conditions and characteristics
- selecting correct products/tools/treatments
- health and safety
- suitable aftercare advice
- corrective methods
- an in-depth study of the skin
The course also includes practical skills and techniques for day makeup, evening makeup, smokey eye, lashes, skin, bridal and mature skin.
Modules covered are;
- Client care
- Hygiene and Sterilisation
- Skin Analysis
- Pre-Base / Primer
- Foundation / Concealer / Color Correction
- Eye Makeup
- Powder / Blusher
- Lip Makeup
- Overall Affect
Course Delivery and Examination
This course is delivered by combination of;
- Online theory training to study at your own pace.
- Practical classes in the beauty school.
5 case studies are required to be completed. One day makeup, one evening makeup, one special occasion makeup, one bridal makeup, and one mature makeup.
Practical Exams will be held within the academy and will be examined with an ITEC External Examiner.
ITEC Theory Exams will be held online.
Upon completion, students will be qualified Makeup Artists and will be able to gain employment in all areas of the Makeup industry.
- ITEC Level 2 Certificate in Makeup.
