The coronavirus is spreading rapidly. The virus is transmitted by droplet infection, whereby secreted viruses can survive for several hours on hands or places such as door handles. The WHO is already assessing the spread as an international health emergency. Both workers and employers should therefore recall their rights and obligations with regard to a possible pandemic.
The Redundancy Payments Acts provides for the layoff of employees where an employer is unable to provide work for which the employee was employed to do, and the employer believes that the cessation will not be permanent and provides the employee with notice. Most hairdressers will have engaged in this process at this point based on government advice on closures and social distancing.
Given that the COVID-19 crisis will undoubtedly end, this webinar will be important to ensure you understand how to design and communicate reasonable and prudent protocols in the workplace for the future, based on up-to-date government and medical advice to ensure the safety of your staff and to ensure morale is raised after this national emergency. This webinar will review retention strategies and communication on how to encourage wellbeing in the workplace with an aim to retain staff after COVID-19 has ceased.
In advance of the webinar, you can email any questions you may want addressed to; firstname.lastname@example.org
There will also be a chatbox on the webinar which will allow you to communicate.
