Requirements
This course is designed for people who are working within the personal grooming industry. All participants should attend all sessions.

Course Overview
The proposed programme will address current and future diversity and inclusion skills and knowledge needed within the personal grooming industry. The programme’s primary focus will be INCLUSION, inclusive practice, and inclusive leadership, resulting in inclusion for all clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Delivery Method
Delivery will take place online using power point presentations. Group Q and A’s, professional discussions, case studies, videos, and contemporary articles and reports will also be used.

Course Content

Session 1:
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is a vibrant journey.

  • Introduction to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Getting to know each other
  • How we learn & what we may need to support us

Session 2:
Doing the right things for the right reasons.

  • How we practice in line with legislation and avoid discrimination

Session 3:

We all make choices, what is important is making the right ones when people are involved.

  • What is Bias?
  • What happens when we are not aware of Unconscious Bias?

Session 4:

We are all part of so many cultures already; let us understand others.

  • Cultural Awareness
  • Race Awareness
  • How the grooming industry is underpinned by postive identity

Session 5:

Equity means removing systematic barriers.

  • Meeting the needs of different groups such as LGBTQ+

Session 6:

We are all just a variation of the human condition.

  • Disability
  • Mental Health
  • What we can do to be truly inclusive

Session 7:

Making Inclusion a priority.

  • How there is always a business case for inclusion
  • Understanding how the benefits outway the costs

Session 8:

The way forward after the course.

  • Conclusions
  • Reflection
  • Personal / salon action plans
