Who Is This Course Suitable For?
This course is for stylists who are looking to up their skills with curly/textured hair. You must have a basic level of cutting knowledge to attend.

Course Overview
This one-day course will teach you the skills and techniques that are needed when cutting and styling naturally curly and/or textured hair. The training will help stylists achieve greater confidence in offering a more diverse approach to all hair textures.

Course Content
The morning will begin with;

• Theory on curly/textured hair
• The language we use with our clients
• How we approach our consultations
• A demonstration of a cut and styling

After lunch each stylist will work on a model, cutting and styling their hair.

Kit Required

• Scissors
• Sectioning clips
• Hairdryer
• Diffuser
• Denman paddle brush or tangle teaser
• Afro comb
• Silver curl clips

Models Required
A model with curly hair will be needed for the afternoon session. Laura can help you source a model through both of your social media accounts, in order to get the best variety.

About The Trainer
Laura Murphy is the owner of The Hair Space in Galway city. Laura trained with London curl expert Lindsey Hughes. She has trained in and understands many different methods, and she has developed her own salon-friendly tips and tricks for salon-friendly times.  Laura’s goal is for more salons to become more inclusive and not shy away from natural texture.
‘Not every salon needs a curly expert, but I want every salon to have the fundamentals of curly and coily hair, so that our industry becomes more inclusive’.
