Requirements
This course is suitable for all apprentices and stylists, once they have already been doing highlighting techniques.
The learner will need to bring their full hairdressing kit; blowdryer, brushes, straightening irons, and curling tongs. Colour and tint bowls are all provided.

Course Overview
In order to adapt when current trends emerge we need a strong understanding with our core colour techniques and theory. In this course, Stephen Boyle focuses on some of the core principles of colour theory so that the learner has a refreshed and clearer understanding through using the colour wheel.
Stephen will focus on Elements Education’s 10 colour techniques which are used as building blocks to becoming a technically proficient colourist. Stephen’s outstanding teaching strategies will enable any level of hairdresser to master the techniques throughout the day.

Course Content
The course primarily focuses on building confidence around using classic techniques to fundamentally achieve contemporary colour.

9:30 – 10am
Colour Talk:
Starting with a thirty minute overview on the theory of colour, deep diving into the colour wheel, colour correction, and trends.

10am – 12:30pm
Two Informal Presentations:
The first technique focuses on creating seamless be-spoke blends which can be used on many colour palettes.
The second technique focuses on the Elements classic; balayage. Stephen takes a detailed approach in how this salon-friendly technique can be adapted in many ways to cater for a wide demographic. This really gives the hairstylist creative freedom to use freehand colouring on any client.

12:30 – 1:30pm
Lunch

1:30 – 5pm
Practical Workshop:
Consisting of all the techniques featured in the morning session.

Learning Outcomes
The learner will leave this course with an all-round knowledge in the art of colour. They will gain experience in techniques, elevations, distribution of colour and how to blend and create modern techniques. After attending the course, the learner will also receive the full Elements Education online package which allows them to learn and revisit the techniques indefinitely.

Qualifications Granted
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the course.
