We require a refundable deposit of €300. This is on the basis that you meet the eligibility criteria. (All learners must fully commit and engage with the programme). This deposit is a standard procedure and serves as a commitment from your side to participate in the course. Rest assured that the deposit will be fully refunded upon completion of the course. We will promptly refund the full deposit amount back to the original payment method you used during registration. Requirements
Successful applicants must have a good standard of English. All learners must have access to a laptop or pc. 8 places are available on this programme.
Materials Required to Take Part
The school will supply a working kit, text book, access to the Moodle learning platform, and full scrubs. Each learner must provided their own model for pre-assessment tests and final exams.
Course Overview
This course is for complete beginners. The purpose of the course is to ensure that students can be employed upon successful completion of the course. A salon setting will also be provided in the beauty school during the course to allow learners to experience working with actual clients before they participate in the workplace placement. There are 2 extra modules added to this course which are currently essential to have in a salon; shellac nails, and a brow and lash qualification.
This is a blended learning course. All learners must have access to a laptop or pc to enable them to attend Zoom classes when necessary and to study each week on Moodle where all eLearning resources are available. This is compulsory and not optional. Learners’ work will be monitored on Moodle and if not complete they will be unable to take the final exam.
Learners will also need to complete 5 days’ work experience in a salon.
Course Content
The main skills the learner will learn are:
- Skincare analysis and consultation
- Skincare treatments to include masks, massage and full cleansing
- Facial massage
- Full manicure and pedicure treatments
- Waxing
- Brow sculpt, wax and shape combined with lash lift
- Shellac nails
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to work in a salon that offers a combination of beauty treatments.
Project Work & Exams:
All of the ITEC qualifications require an end of course practical exam and online theory exams. A full portfolio of evidence is also required for final presentation and inspection by the external ITEC Examiner.
Opportunities for Progression
Once learners have achieved the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Specialists, they may progress on to other VTCT (ITEC) or equivalent qualifications at Level 2 or 3 for example:
• Level 2 Diploma in Hair, Photographic and Media Make-up
• Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques
• Level 3 Diploma in Body Treatments
• Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy
• Level 3 Diploma in Facial Electrical Treatments
